DDR5는 8개의 뱅크 그룹으로 구성된 최대 32개의 뱅크(별도로 활성화/비활성화할 수 있는 저장 장치)를 허용하여 DDR4 표준에서 사용 가능한 16개 뱅크의 액세스 가용성을 두 배로 높입니다. DDR5 버스트 길이(단일 DRAM 읽기/쓰기 명령에서 액세스할 수 있는 데이터의 양)도 DDR4 버스트 길이의 두 배입니다.

기존 DDR4의 1.2V에서 1.1V로 표준 동작 전압을 낮추어 단위 대역폭당 소비 전력을 줄이고 에너지와 전력을 절약하며 컴퓨터를 보다 쉽게 사용할 수 있다. 동시에 노이즈 간섭을 최소화하기 위해 전원 관리를 마더보드에서 메모리로 이동하고 PMIC(Power Management IC)를 구성하여 시스템의 전원 부하를 효과적으로 제어할 수 있습니다.
